About This Project

For the poorest children in the Philippines, primary education is an asset often out of reach. In 2007, one million Filipino children aged six to 11 were not attending school (UNESCO, 2010). Deprived of education, a child's chances of escaping poverty are dramatically reduced.

Every year of education decreases the likelihood of a child living in poverty. In response to this troubling reality, ICM provides Elementary Scholarships for ICM Jumpstart Kindergarten graduates who continue on to public school first grade.

Invest in education, and help lift these kids out of poverty now!

As a participant, my goal is to raise HK$30,000 and support 75 children for a year of elementary school to cover public school expenses (school fees, uniforms, supplies). Please consider joining me by supporting 1 child (HK$400), 5 children (HK$2000), 10 children (HK$4000), or even 75 children to go to school this year.

At ICM, we believe that no one should live in abject poverty. With the right support, the right training, and the right resources, the bondages of poverty can be broken.

In the last few years, ICM's community-based, holistic solutions have reached more than 750,000 people living in poverty - building resilience and greater well-being in families and whole communities across the Visayas and Mindanao. This wide impact is possible through a strategy of partnering with the local churches found in most low-income Philippine communities, inspiring hope and providing help to transform lives.

After our four-month Transform program, ICM's ultrapoor participant experiences:
- 106% increase in household income
- 43% increase in self-worth
- 28% decrease in serious illnesses
